Nestled in the Sonoran Desert, surrounded by mountains, Tucson offers a unique blend of outdoor adventures, Southwestern cuisine, and historic landmarks. The city is home to the University of Arizona, which adds a youthful energy and a thriving arts and culture scene. Tucson enjoys sunshine nearly year-round, making it ideal for outdoor exploration. The city’s mix of outdoor activities, historic charm, and a thriving arts and music scene makes it a well-rounded destination with something for every type of traveler.
- Saguaro National Park
Located on the east and west sides of Tucson, this park is home to the iconic, towering saguaro cactus—native only to the Sonoran Desert. Visitors can hike scenic trails, enjoy desert sunsets, and learn about desert ecology at visitor centers. We took a private tour to a ranch and had an amazing time learning about the tour on the way out there and seeing and trying the different Catus. We practice roping fake horses, had an amazing meal cooked for us and enjoyed the sunset over the dessert. - Sonoran-style Cuisine
Tucson is a UNESCO City of Gastronomy, known for its rich blend of Mexican and Native American culinary influences. Don’t miss local favorites like carne asada, tamales, and flour tortillas made from heritage wheat, often served in vibrant, locally-owned restaurants.- I enjoy Mexican and breakfast at Rapton Cayon Cafe. I found myself going back a second time.
