The Dinks

We’ve been to Nashville more times than I can count on both hands. Living in Charlotte, NC, Nashville has been a perfect long weekend trip for us and we absolutely love this city. These are our top recommendations:

  • Grand Ole Opry
  • Grand Ole Opry
  • Grand Ole Opry
  • Grand Ole Opry
  • Grand Ole Opry
See a show at The Grand Ole Opry and visit the Opryland Hotel

No visit to Nashville is complete without experiencing the legendary Grand Ole Opry, a must-see for music enthusiasts worldwide. Steeped in history and tradition, attending a show at the Opry is a quintessential Nashville experience that promises an unforgettable evening of live performances by country music’s biggest stars. We haven’t forked out the money to do a tour, but those who have love it.

Before heading into the Opry, take some time to explore the stunning Opryland Hotel, where lush gardens and cascading waterfalls create a serene oasis amidst the hustle and bustle of Music City. Spend a leisurely 30 minutes wandering through the hotel’s beautiful grounds, admiring the botanical wonders and soaking in the tranquil ambiance before immersing yourself in the magic of the Grand Ole Opry. We have stayed there once and it is a truely beautiful hotel if you can swing it, but it is kind of far from downtown if you were thinking of Ubering back after a night of drinking.

  • Blue Bird Cafe - Nashville
Bluebird Cafe

A visit to the Bluebird Cafe is a coveted experience for music lovers in Nashville, despite the challenge of securing tickets. Known for its intimate setting and legendary performances, the Bluebird Cafe consistently sells out in advance, leaving many hopeful attendees disappointed. However, for those willing to brave the wait, there’s a chance to snag a few coveted first-come, first-serve seats by lining up before the doors open. While it may require patience and determination, the opportunity to witness a live performance at the Bluebird Cafe is undoubtedly worth the effort, offering a glimpse into the heart and soul of Nashville’s renowned music scene.

  • Nashville TV Tour - Deacan's House

The Family

We stopped on a road trip for a day in Nashville, which is definitely not enough time. We spent most of it downtown but also stopped by the Centennial Park and the Pantheon.

Centennial Park

Centennial Park stands as an oasis of calm amidst the bustling urban landscape of Nashville, offering visitors a serene retreat from the city’s vibrant energy. As we stepped into the park, we were greeted by lush greenery, meandering pathways, and the tranquil expanse of its shimmering lake. It was the perfect setting for a leisurely afternoon picnic. We brought along foam airplanes to add an extra element of fun for the kids. Centennial Park provided us with a much-needed escape from the hustle and bustle of city life, allowing us to unwind and connect with nature in the heart of Nashville.

  • At the heart of Centennial Park stands a remarkable tribute to ancient Greece: the full-scale replica of the Parthenon, aptly named the Nashville Parthenon. This architectural marvel captivates visitors with its grandeur and attention to detail, faithfully recreating the splendor of the original structure in Athens. As we approached the Parthenon, we were awestruck by its majestic columns and imposing facade, reminiscent of a bygone era of classical architecture. Stepping inside, we were greeted by a vast interior space adorned with ornate sculptures and intricate reliefs, transporting us back in time to the golden age of ancient Greece. Standing as a testament to human creativity and ingenuity, the Nashville Parthenon is not only a cherished landmark within Centennial Park but also a symbol of the city’s enduring appreciation for art, history, and culture.
