Cruise Port:
Both the Family and The DINKS visited while on a cruise. The main port area, located on the western coast of the island, is bustling with activity and offers a range of attractions and amenities for visitors.
The port area is lined with shops and boutiques offering a variety of souvenirs, local crafts, jewelry, and clothing. It’s a popular spot for picking up traditional Mexican items and unique gifts. There are numerous restaurants and bars where you can sample local cuisine, enjoy seafood dishes, or sip on tropical cocktails with views of the Caribbean Sea.
The port area often features live music, performances by local artists, and cultural shows, providing a lively atmosphere for visitors. Take a leisurely stroll along the waterfront promenade, lined with palm trees and offering stunning views of the turquoise waters of the Caribbean.
Beach Activities:
Cozumel boasts some of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean, each offering its unique charm and attractions. Relax on pristine beaches such as Playa Palancar or Paradise Beach, ideal for sunbathing, swimming, and beach sports. Enjoy activities like jet skiing, parasailing, and kayaking in the island’s crystal-clear waters.

The DINKs

After disembarking from the cruise ship, we joined a small group and headed out on a boat to one of the island’s renowned snorkeling spots. The ride itself was beautiful, with the morning sun casting a golden glow over the crystal-clear waters.
Once we arrived at the reef, it was time to dive in. The water was warm and inviting, and as soon as I put my face in the water, I was greeted by a world bursting with color. Schools of tropical fish darted around, and the coral formations were simply mesmerizing. The guides were knowledgeable and made sure everyone felt comfortable, whether it was their first time snorkeling or they were seasoned pros. They were clearly feeding the fish to get them to come by people especially while they were taking the professional photos that they were selling after the excursion.
Relax On the Beach
After the snorkel excursion, I was ready to unwind and soak up some sun. Instead of heading back to the cruise ship, I decided to take a taxi to one of Cozumel’s local beaches. The taxi ride was short and gave me a glimpse of local life in Cozumel. The driver was friendly and offered some tips on where to find the best spots for a quiet afternoon. When we arrived at the beach, I was greeted by the sight of soft white sand, swaying palm trees, and the gentle sound of waves lapping at the shore.
The beach was perfect—relatively quiet, with just a few locals and some fellow cruisers who had the same idea. I found a spot under a palm tree, laid out my towel, and simply relaxed. There’s something incredibly peaceful about spending time on a beach that isn’t crowded, where you can hear the birds overhead and feel completely at ease. The water was just as inviting as it had been during the snorkel excursion. I took a few dips to cool off and enjoyed the warm, shallow waters that stretched out in shades of blue. It was the ideal way to unwind after an active morning, with nothing on the agenda except enjoying the natural beauty around me.
The Family
During our Caribbean cruise, an unexpected detour brought us to Cancun due to a hurricane altering our original route. Though it wasn’t part of our planned itinerary, we decided to make the most of it. We purchased a day pass at a local resort, which included access to a delicious buffet lunch. The day was spent soaking up the sun on the resort’s stunning beach, with its crystal-clear waters and soft, white sand. It turned out to be a delightful and memorable stop, adding an unexpected highlight to our cruise adventure.
